Lakes College is a further education college delivering training to full‑time and part‑time learners and apprentices to degree level. We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to complement our existing delivery team and lecture in Maths to teach GCSE / Functional Skills. The successful candidate will have a wide range of relevant experience and the drive and passion to contribute to the expansion of the department as we strive towards becoming an outstanding provider of education and training.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Motivate and engage a range of students with inspirational and innovative approaches to Maths.
- Deliver high quality teaching and learning using practical, real‑life scenarios.
- Support the expansion of the Maths department as part of the College’s commitment to becoming an outstanding provider.
- Degree Level Qualification in a relevant subject or equivalent level skills.
- Formal Teaching Qualification (Cert Ed/PGCE/BA Ed) desirable.
- 5 GCSE’s (including Maths & English or equivalent) essential.
- Demonstrable in‑depth knowledge of subject area essential.
- Recent and relevant industry experience in the sector essential.
- Experience of working within the post‑16/HE sector supporting learners essential.
- Experience in curriculum design, delivery, assessment and evaluation for post‑16 education/training essential.
- Recent relevant teaching experience with good or outstanding observation grades.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding essential.
- Focused on standards and positive outcomes essential.
- Ability to instill a strong sense of belief and accountability in both staff and students essential.
- Demonstrates ability to work under pressure, prioritise and commit to strict deadlines whilst maintaining quality of output essential.
- Proactive in taking action to achieve goals essential.
- Ability to prioritise own work, multi‑task and shift priorities essential.
- Demonstrates meeting expectations of internal customers, including students essential.
- Dedicated essential.

- 23.5 hours teaching per week with 13.5 hours administration and development time (reduced hours if part time).
