About the Role

We are looking for motivated and community-focused Home Energy Advisors (Green Doctors) to support vulnerable households across West Cumbria and Carlisle.

This rewarding role involves helping residents experiencing or at risk of fuel poverty by providing practical home energy advice, installing simple energy-saving measures, and supporting households to reduce energy costs while improving comfort, warmth, and wellbeing.

The successful candidate will be a confident communicator with a passion for helping people and building strong local partnerships. Previous experience in energy efficiency or community support is desirable, though full training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

* Deliver home energy support visits to vulnerable residents, including low-income households, older people, disabled residents, and families with young children.

* Provide practical advice on reducing energy use and improving energy efficiency in the home.

* Install simple energy-saving measures such as LED light bulbs, draught excluders, and reflective radiator panels.

* Support residents with basic money management advice and signpost to relevant support services where appropriate.

* Maintain accurate records, case notes, and project data using internal systems.

* Develop and maintain relationships with local authorities, housing providers, health organisations, and community groups to generate referrals.

* Deliver informal energy awareness sessions to community groups and partner organisations.

We are looking for someone who:

* Has excellent communication and customer service skills.

* Is organised and able to manage their own workload with minimal supervision.

* Enjoys working within local communities and supporting vulnerable people.

* Can build effective working relationships with partners and stakeholders.

A Level 3 qualification in an energy-related subject would be advantageous; however, training will be provided for the right candidate.

* This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS check.

* Flexibility to work occasional evenings or outside normal office hours may be required.

* Applicants must be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults
