A respected and well-established organisation is seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to join its friendly and supportive finance team.

Working as part of a small, close-knit finance team, you'll enjoy a varied role with genuine responsibility, supporting the production of accurate financial information while contributing to the continued success of the business.
The Role- Assisting with monthly project costing
- Completing inter-company, cashbook and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Supporting VAT returns, fixed asset accounting and monthly management accounts.
- Assisting with financial statement preparation and the annual external audit.
- Testing system upgrades and supporting colleagues with finance system queries.
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes and contribute to the efficiency of the finance function.
- Previous experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar finance role.
- A sound understanding of reconciliations, VAT, month end processes and support with the production of monthly management accounts.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- Good Excel skills and confidence using finance systems.
- A proactive, team-focused approach with a willingness to learn and develop.
- Experience with in construction, engineering or another project-based environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Competitive salary, dependent on experience.
- 26 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
- Company pension scheme with a 5% employer contribution and 4% employee contribution
. - Full-time hours:
Monday to Thursday 8.00am-4.30pm, Friday 8.00am-4.00pm. - Free on-site parking.
