Community Payback Supervisor – A key role supervising offenders completing unpaid community work placements. You will lead small teams, drive or sort logistics, and work to improve public spaces while ensuring safety and progress in offenders’ rehabilitation journeys.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and motivate offenders through up to 7 hours of unpaid community work daily.
- Supervise on‑site activities such as clearing overgrowth, planting trees, restoring community facilities, street cleaning, graffiti removal and other manual tasks.
- Arrange transportation using service vehicles, ensuring all movements are safe and compliant.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Record attendance, progress and daily reports for each work group.
- Maintain a positive, inclusive environment, modelling best practice and community values.
- Full UK manual driving licence – an automatic licence is not accepted.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and communicate effectively with diverse groups.
- Empathy, problem‑solving skills and a willingness to engage physically with community projects.
- Previous experience working with offenders, probation, or community service is desirable.
- Right to work in the United Kingdom. Knowledge of current Skilled Worker visa rules is required; see relevant guidance for eligibility after 22 July 2025.
- Full time – 37 hours per week (standard Civil Service hours). Part‑time and job‑sharing options exist on a case‑by‑case basis.
- Regular weekend working (up to 50% higher rate) and occasional evenings given the 7‑day operation of community projects.
- Starting salary of £28,064, with annual progression through the Competency Based Framework.
- Annual leave: 25 days at appointment, increasing to 30 days after five years’ service.
- Applicants must have the legal right to live and work in the UK.
- Only those with a pre‑22 July 2025 Skilled Worker visa, or who meet the required immigration criteria, will be considered.
