Company pension, casual dress, free on-site parking The Company They are a leading UK manufacturer and erector of commercial poultry housing, agricultural buildings and industrial steelwork. Due to an increase in contracts, they are expanding their technical design team. Theyre looking for an experienced CAD Technician to work at the companys Head Office in Kingsland, Herefordshire. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with AutoCAD experience who wants to develop a long-term career in construction, steel, timber and cladding design.
Previous experience in steel portal frames, timber structures or cladding systems would be beneficial but is not essential. Full training will be provided on our products, processes and Advance Steel software. You'll work alongside experienced engineers, designers and project managers, producing drawings for manufacture and construction while learning every stage of our design process. Main Responsibilities Produce accurate 2D drawings using AutoCAD.
Assist with creation of steel fabrication drawings and 3D models using Advance Steel (training provided where required). Prepare General Arrangement and fabrication drawings. Revise drawings throughout project stages as designs develop. Coordinate drawings with project managers, engineers, suppliers and manufacturing. Produce material schedules and drawing packages for fabrication and installation. Ensure drawings meet company standards and project specifications. Help resolve technical queries during manufacture and construction.
Maintain organised drawing records, and revision control. What We're Looking For Minimum 2 years' practical AutoCAD experience. Good understanding of construction drawings.
Experience with in construction, steelwork, timber, cladding, manufacturing or a similar technical environment would be advantageous. Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team. Organised with excellent attention to detail. Ability to manage workload and meet project deadlines. Willingness to learn new software and develop technical skills.
Experience with Advance Steel is desirable but not essential as training will be provided. Full UK driving licence would be advantageous.
