We have a new and exciting opportunity for a Curriculum Team Leader in our Beauty Therapy department with responsibility for programmes of study and day release apprenticeships across all pathways. This is a real opportunity for a passionate and innovative teacher and industry‑skilled specialist to establish a ‘Centre of Excellence’ within the region.
As a Curriculum Team Leader you will coordinate and lead beauty therapy up to Level 4 and the media make‑up department study and apprenticeship programmes, delivering around 828 teaching hours, completing the relevant preparation and marking, and setting SMART targets to enable students to reach their potential. You will also supervise staff within your area and have some performance‑management responsibilities.
You will…- Have an industry background in Beauty and experience delivering, assessing and verifying all levels, with a teaching qualification and ideally an assessor’s award. You must be qualified to deliver the higher levels on aesthetics.
- Have recent experience of leading or working as part of a team within an education establishment, with evidence of delivering strong outcomes and high‑quality teaching and learning, and leading a commercial environment. You should also have experience of coordinating and managing a range of courses and be able to give students an enriching experience from day one.
- Be able to lead your team successfully, working collaboratively with colleagues in this area and across other subjects, and have good contacts with industry professionals to shape future curriculum and provide excellent opportunities for students.
Your line manager will be the Curriculum Manager and you will regularly report on objectives, updating them on KPIs including student recruitment, retention, anticipated achievement, attendance and punctuality.
