Worksop (with travel across North Nottinghamshire and surrounding areas) Salary: £33,487 (unqualified teacher/assessor) to £38,487 (qualified teacher/assessor) per annum + benefits
Hours:
Full Time, 37 hours per week, all year round

Our client is seeking an experienced Joinery professional to join their Work-Based Learning team as an Apprenticeship Skills Tutor. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled tradesperson to pass on their knowledge and help shape the careers of future joiners. Working with apprentices and employers across the region, you will deliver engaging training, provide coaching and mentoring, and support learners in achieving their apprenticeship standards.
You will carry out workplace reviews and assessments, monitor learner progress through digital systems, and help apprentices develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to succeed within the construction industry. This role would suit an experienced joiner looking to transition into education and training, or an existing assessor seeking a fresh challenge within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.
- Deliver engaging training, coaching and mentoring sessions
- Conduct workplace assessments and progress reviews
- Support apprentices to achieve apprenticeship standards
- Monitor learner progress through e-portfolio systems
- Provide constructive feedback and guidance
- Build strong relationships with employers and learners
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
- Contribute to high-quality apprenticeship delivery
- Industry experience within Joinery or Woodworking NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant trade
- A1/V1 Assessor Award or willingness to work towards Level 5 Teaching qualification or willingness to achieve
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational and IT skills
- Passion for developing future industry talent
