Engineering Team Leader

Butternut Box is looking for an Engineering Team Leader in Blyth, Worksop to lead the full shift, developing a high‑performing, resilient engineering team.

• Lead and support a team of engineers on shift
  , setting tone for performance, accountability and engagement.
• Drive strong cross‑functional working with operations and other site teams, building effective relationships and better alignment across the business.
• Provide hands‑on technical leadership during day‑to‑day engineering activity, responding to challenges and supporting the team.
• Coach and manage people effectively
  , holding regular conversations, giving feedback, and helping individuals develop over time.
• Help bring structure and maturity to the function by identifying opportunities to improve ways of working and embedding practical processes.
• Keep the team focused through changing demands
  , maintaining momentum during busy periods and motivating people during peaks and troughs.

• Strong leadership experience from an engineering environment and ability to get the best from people.
• Technically credible
  , with a solid mechanical or electrical background and confidence to lead hands‑on.
• Personable relationship‑builder who works well with different teams and creates trust across functions.
• Adaptable and resilient
  , calm under pressure and positive through challenge and change.
• Good commercial awareness and sound judgement
  , understanding how engineering decisions connect to wider business needs.
