Night Porter

At The Lion Hotel, we take great pride in delivering exceptional hospitality through personalised guest interactions, offering top‑class accommodations, dining, and conference facilities.

As Night Porter, you will be the main point of contact during the night and play a key role in ensuring the smooth running and security of the hotel overnight.

• Provide a friendly and professional welcome to guests during night‑time check‑ins and check‑outs
• Carry out regular security and safety checks throughout the premises
• Manage and respond to any emergency situations in line with hotel procedures
• Perform general cleaning duties to maintain high standards of cleanliness in public areas
• Provide bar service to guests in accordance with licensing laws
• Complete reception duties, including taking bookings and handling enquiries
• Prepare for the following day’s operations as instructed by management

• Previous experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential
• Strong communication and problem‑solving skills
• Able to work independently and remain calm under pressure
• Trustworthy, professional, and well‑presented
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and public holidays
• Basic IT skills for using hotel booking systems
• This is a 28 hours per week role involving night shifts between 21:00 and 06:00
