This school supports pupils with a range of needs, including Autism (ASD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and Speech, Language, and Communication Needs (SLCN). As an SEN Teacher, you will look beyond the diagnosis to see the child, adapting your pedagogy to ensure every student thrives:

• Bespoke Curriculum Delivery:
  Adapt the National Curriculum to meet the sensory and cognitive needs of your pupils.
• EHCP Leadership:
  Work at the center of a multi-disciplinary team to implement and track Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) targets.
• Communication Specialist:
  Utilise PECS, Makaton, or Signalong to provide a voice for non-verbal or pre-verbal learners.
• Nurturing Environment:
  Create a low-arousal classroom that promotes emotional regulation and reduces anxiety.
• Supervision:
  Lead a team of dedicated Teaching Assistants to provide high-quality 1:1 and small group intervention.

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS):
  Essential.

  Experience:
  
  Proven experience teaching children with ASD, SLD, or complex needs (Special school or Mainstream SRP experience).
• Adaptability: A teacher who can pivot their lesson plan in the moment to follow a child's interest or sensory requirements.
• Resilience: A calm, grounded approach to managing challenging behaviors and emotional outbursts.
