SEN Teacher (Primary) - Contract & Permanent Roles
Location: Worthing, West Sussex
Salary: £30,000 - £46,000 (MPS/UPS + SEN Allowance)
Contract Type: Full-Time (Permanent and Long-Term Contract options available)

This school supports pupils with a range of needs, including Autism (ASD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and Speech, Language, and Communication Needs (SLCN). Whether you are looking for the security of a permanent position or the flexibility of a long-term contract, we have a classroom ready for your expertise.
Your Role & ImpactAs an SEN Teacher, you will look beyond the diagnosis to see the child, adapting your pedagogy to ensure every student thrives:
Bespoke Curriculum Delivery: Adapt the National Curriculum to meet the sensory and cognitive needs of your pupils.
EHCP Leadership: Work at the center of a multi-disciplinary team to implement and track Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) targets.
Communication Specialist: Utilise PECS, Makaton, or Signalong to provide a voice for non-verbal or pre-verbal learners.
Nurturing Environment: Create a low-arousal classroom that promotes emotional regulation and reduces anxiety.
Supervision: Lead a team of dedicated Teaching Assistants to provide high-quality 1:1 and small group intervention.
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Essential.
SEN
Experience:
Proven experience teaching children with ASD, SLD, or complex needs (Special school or Mainstream SRP experience).Adaptability: A teacher who can pivot their lesson plan in the moment to follow a child's interest or sensory requirements.
Resilience: A calm, grounded approach to managing challenging behaviors and emotional outbursts.
Specialist Facilities: Access to sensory rooms, hydrotherapy pools, and outdoor learning spaces.
Professional Development: Extensive training in specialist areas like Team Teach, Autism awareness, and therapeutic play.
