This is a development role for motivated individuals looking to progress and develop into a Senior Healthcare Support Worker. Over the course of 6 months you will be supported to complete your Care Certificate, undertake fundamental acute care competencies and progress to a Band 3 Senior Healthcare Support Worker.
Key responsibilities- Assist patients to carry out personal care including meeting hygiene, nutrition and continence needs.
- Assist patient to mobilise where appropriate.
- Take and record temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressure, height and weight on instruction from the qualified nurse. Record the results appropriately and report any abnormalities to the nurse or nurse in charge.
- Test specimens and record the results.
- Under the supervision of the qualified nurse, support patients undergoing clinical procedures ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Restock departmental areas as required, reporting any shortages to the NiC/Ward Manager.
We will support you through a 6‑month programme that includes completing the Care Certificate, achieving fundamental acute care competencies, and progressing to a Band 3 Senior Healthcare Support Worker.
