About the Role

Primary Care Nurse – Category B prison at Bicester, Oxford. Covers inpatient unit, segregation and outpatient clinics.

Hours

37.5 hours a week, working across 7 days. Shifts 7am‑5pm or 7am‑7pm, alternate weekends 7am‑5pm or 7:30am‑5:30pm. Minimum 4 nights in a 4‑week period, 7pm‑7am.

Salary

Full‑time, annual salary up to £54,397 per annum FTE, dependent on experience.

Qualifications Required
  • Registered nurse – Adult
  • Current professional qualification (NMC)
  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • Staff management – desirable
  • Experience of nurse in charge / shift coordination
  • Understanding of the complexities of multi‑disciplinary and multi‑agency working

Responsibilities
  • Work within a multi‑disciplinary team to deliver a nurse‑led service and prevent hospital admissions
  • Undertake medication rounds, dispense controlled medication, attend emergency response situations, assess patients, and undertake reception screening
  • Deliver nurse‑led clinics to your patient group, supported by a multi‑disciplinary team
  • Provide evidence‑based care, solicit and act on patient feedback, personalising care to what matters to them
  • Deliver non‑judgemental care that makes a real difference
  • Forge strong links with partners and stakeholders to inspire excellence
  • Promote best practice, clinical supervision, evidence‑based care and continuous quality improvement, embedding a culture of shared learning
  • Share knowledge, skills and expertise to ensure safe care and build strong multi‑disciplinary teams
