Head Start programs prepare America's most vulnerable young children to succeed in school and in life beyond school. To achieve this, Head Start programs deliver services to children and families in core areas of learning, health, and family well‑being while engaging parents as partners every step of the way. The Head Start program encompasses Head Start Preschool programs, which primarily serve 3 and 4‑year‑old children, and Early Head Start programs for infants, toddlers, and pregnant women.

JOB SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Head Start Director, the Education Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing and implementing educational services that promote children's social competence and support parents as their child's primary educators. This position is based in Worthington, MN, with oversight responsibilities and occasional travel to the Pipestone facility.

• BA or advanced degree in early childhood education; or BA or advanced degree and equivalent coursework in early childhood education with early education teaching experience;
• Knowledge and experience in philosophy and practices of Head Start or comparable child development programs;
• Experience with Creative curriculum and Teaching Strategies GOLD assessment tracking, licensing standards for day‑care centers is preferred;
• Professional maturity and a cooperative attitude aligned with program goals;
• Respect and compassion for children and adults, with flexibility, patience, and a commitment to maintaining the physical, mental, and personal well‑being needed to perform effectively;
• Have education or experience in collaborating with parents in the education of their children.

This is a full‑time (40 hours/week), on‑site position. Starting annual salary $54,625‑$56,264 based on skill, education, and experience. Benefit package includes PTO, paid holidays, and available health, life, dental, and vision insurance.
