* Position will work in the Worthington School District during the school year, including summer school and will work at Avera Medical Group Worthington Clinic during school breaks.

* School hours: 7:00 a.m.

-3:30 p.m.
* Summer school hours: 7:30 a.m.

-1:30 p.m.
* Clinic hours: 8 a.m.

-5 p.m.

* ** A Brief Overview
** Provides registered school nurse services to schools. This position will have primary responsibility for student health and education at the local school.

** What you will do*
* * Consults with administrators to determine goals and services.
* Complies with school district policies and operating procedures.
* Serves as a team member in identifying, evaluating, and providing services for children. Facilitates referral of students and families to appropriate district and community services.
* Collects information about the health and developmental status of the student in a systematic and continuous manner. Uses data collected about health and developmental status of the student to determine a nursing diagnosis. Develops and maintains a nursing care plan with specific goals and interventions that are unique to that student’s needs.
* Serves as a liaison between the school and community health and welfare agencies and the medical profession.
* Focuses on prevention of illness, disability, and the early detection and correction of health problems.
* Assists with the development and maintenance of student health records.
* Provides care for students with scheduled and unscheduled health needs such as administering medications, treatments, and procedures as directed by the student’s physician and District policy.
* Provides health education for students, staff and parents.
* Fulfills RN - Clinic Nurse role when scheduled.
