DLZ Corporation is seeking a motivated Bridge Engineer to join our team in Columbus, Cincinnati, or Cleveland, Ohio! This role is ideal for recent graduates or early-career professionals eager to contribute to critical infrastructure projects. You'll work on a range of bridge projects, from modest to complex, for clients including Local Public Agencies, the Ohio Department of Transportation, and the Ohio Turnpike Infrastructure Commission.
WhatYou'll Do
- Perform Design & Analysis: Contribute to bridge design, structural analyses, and calculations for highway structures in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Kentucky.
- Support Bridge Inspections: Participate in bridge inspections, applying fundamental structural engineering principles.
- Prepare Documentation: Assist in preparing structural drawings using AutoCAD (Civil 3D) and Micro Station (Open Roads), as well as reports, cost estimates, and proposals.
- Conduct Field Work: Work both in the office and in the field, ensuring project accuracy and safety.
- Adhere to Standards: Perform all work safely and responsibly, aligning with DLZ's health and safety plan and core values.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering.
- 0 - 3 years of structural engineering experience.
- Engineering Intern (EI) certification is preferred, with a strong desire to pursue a Professional Engineer (PE) License.
- Experience with AutoCAD (Civil 3D) and Micro Station (Open Roads) is a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel.
- Strong verbal and written English language skills.
- Ability to safely visit and traverse construction and project sites while complying with all safety requirements.
