Position Summary
The Senior Binding Authority Underwriting Associate evaluates complex risks to ensure proper risk selection, pricing, and terms for policies generated in the assigned territory. This position works independently within the established strategy and delegated authority to generate a profitable portfolio and manages marketing activities to generate new business.
What will your job entail?Job Responsibilities:
- Perform a combination of duties in accordance with departmental guidelines.
- Analyze quality, quantity, and profitability of highly complex risks underwritten; prepare and present reports to management.
- Review submission information with the underwriter including analysis of account information.
- Coordinate the quoting, binding, and issuance process.
- Research and apply appropriate rates, coverages, and policy forms.
- Issue notices of cancellation, nonrenewal notices, or reinstatements.
- Develop and maintain superior relationships with underwriters, producers, brokers, and reinsurers.
- Maintain accurate file documentation in accordance with company guidelines.
- Develop and maintain agency and/or broker relationships with large producers within the assigned territory to reach positive and profitable outcomes on complex, high-risk business.
- Responsible for special underwriting projects and other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Risk Management.
- 2+ years of related experience or in a similar role.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
- Advanced technical expertise, underwriting skill, and high level of knowledge of insurance and underwriting principles, practices, and procedures.

CompensationThe target salary range for this position is $68,000.00 - $85,000.00 annually. The wage range for this role considers many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, licensure and certification, business needs, and market demands. The pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. Full-time roles are eligible for bonuses and benefits.
