The Healthcare (Clinical) Analyst at Med Vet plays a critical role in supporting exceptional patient care, client, referral partner and caregiver experience by analyzing clinical workflows, evaluating data, identifying improvement opportunities, and partnering with clinicians, hospital leadership, and technology teams. This role helps ensure that Med Vet’s specialty and emergency hospitals operate efficiently, safely, and consistently, while advancing technology, innovations, data driven decision making, quality reporting, and clinical decision support.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Clinical Workflow & Process Optimization
  • Map and analyze clinical workflows across emergency, specialty, and critical care services to identify inefficiencies, variation, and opportunities for standardization.
  • Partners with veterinarians, technicians, and hospital teams to document processes, pain points, and requirements.
  • Recommend and help implement workflow improvements that improve patient care, reduce caregiver burden, and enhance throughput.
Healthcare Technology & EHR/PIMS Support
  • Support optimization of Practice Management System and related clinical applications (lab integrations, radiology workflows, pharmacy, inventory, referral management, discharge instructions).
  • Define clinical requirements for new features, upgrades, and configurations.
  • Support testing, validation, and training during system enhancements or rollouts.
  • Serve as a liaison between clinical teams and IT, ensuring clinical needs are fully represented in technology solutions.
Data Analysis & Reporting
  • Use clinical data to identify trends, performance gaps, and safety or quality concerns (e.g., wait times, LOS, service utilization, recheck rates, medical complexity indicators, anesthesia metrics).
  • Develop dashboards, reports, and analytics that help hospital leaders make data-informed decisions.
  • Partner with the Data & Analytics team to validate data accuracy, ensure definitions are standardized, and improve data quality.
Quality, Safety, and Standardization
  • Support clinical quality initiatives, including outcome tracking, adverse event reviews, and compliance with Med Vet clinical standards.
  • Help monitor adherence to clinical standards, documentation quality, and regulatory expectations (veterinary radiology requirements, controlled substance documentation, etc.).
  • Participate in root cause analyses and continuous improvement projects.
Change Management & Training
  • Translate complex clinical and operational insights into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Help develop training materials, job aids, and communication plans for workflow changes or technology updates.
  • Facilitate workshops, pilot programs, and cross-hospital collaboratives related to clinical excellence and operational efficiency.
Technical Systems Integration & Data Engineering Support
  • Collaborate with IT and data engineering teams to understand backend data structures for Practice Management System and related systems; perform data extraction, validation, and transformation (SQL-based queries, API calls, ETL workflows) to support analytics, workflow automation, and system optimization. Assist in diagnosing system performance issues, integration failures, and data quality problems across clinical applications.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

The ideal candidate has a minimum of 3 years of experience in analyst role, clinical operations, workflow analysis, or healthcare analytics. In addition, this position requires:

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, computer science, data analytics, business, or related field; equivalent clinical experience considered.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including proficiency in Excel, SQL, BI tools (Power BI, Qlik, Tableau), or workflow mapping tools.
