Job TitleTool Technician Apprentice
LocationWotton, – own transport is required due to rural location.

Key Responsibilities- Assist in the cleaning, maintenance, servicing, and repair of production tools.
- Learn how to inspect tools for wear or damage and carry out basic repairs or modifications under supervision.
- Help with setting up and operating standard workshop machines such as lathes, mills, grinders, and CNC equipment.
- Follow detailed engineering drawings and specifications to ensure tooling is produced to required standards.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and tooling condition reports.
- Document service and repair work by completing electronic records, including photographs of issues documented.
- At times support production by completing cleans or repairs in the clean room factory.
- Assist in equipment repairs and breakdowns if required.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Learn and adhere to all relevant health and safety standards and procedures.
- Participate in team meetings and toolbox talks to develop understanding of continuous improvement practices.
- Attend relevant training courses and complete academic coursework associated with the apprenticeship.
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
- Eagerness to learn and develop technical skills.
- Good problem‑solving abilities.
- Basic understanding of mechanical principles and tooling components (desirable).
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Ability to adapt to change and maintain a positive attitude and continuous improvement mindset.
- Good time management and organisational skills.
- Interest in mechanical engineering, manufacturing, or toolmaking.
- Must meet eligibility criteria for an approved apprenticeship program.
- You will be enrolled in a recognised Toolmaking or Engineering Apprenticeship programme.
- On‑the‑job training combined with formal study at a partner college or training provider.
- Mentorship from experienced tool technicians and engineers.
