Overview
Operational Prison Support
Location:
HMP Leyhill
Shift Pattern:
Part-time, 22 hours per week Wednesday to Friday (Wednesday and Thursday 8am to 4.30pm, Fridays 8am to 4pm)
Hourly rate: £12.48 per hour, increasing up to £21.84 per hour with overtime
Ready for a rewarding role in the justice system? We're hiring an Operational Support Grade (SSO) to join our team in HMP Leyhill. Contribute to vital security operations including gate duties, visitor checks, prisoner escorts, CCTV monitoring, and more.
Responsibilities- Manage entry/exit and searches at the gate
- Escort contractors, vehicles, and prisoners
- Monitor CCTV, report suspicious activity
- Process visitors and oversee mail censorship
- Assist with prisoner processing and food delivery
- Competitive pay with overtime options

- Good IT skills and a UK driving licence (location-dependent)
- Strong communication and team working abilities
- Ability to work under pressure and follow security protocols
