The Role We are seeking a reliable and organised Sales & Purchase Ledger Clerk to join our busy finance team on a temporary, part-time basis.
The role will be based in Wrexham, however, for the first two weeks, the successful candidate will be required to work from our Oswestry office while the company relocates its Finance and Accountancy team to Wrexham.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounts professional looking for flexible part-time hours. The successful candidate will support the day-to-day finance function, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of sales and purchase ledger transactions while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
Processing purchase invoices accurately and efficiently
Raising and processing sales invoices
Matching, batching and coding invoices
Reconciling supplier statements
Processing payments and allocating customer receipts
Chasing outstanding customer payments where required
Resolving invoice queries with suppliers and customers
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records
Assisting with month-end processes
Supporting the wider Finance team with general administrative duties
Person Specification The ideal candidate will have:
Previous experience within a Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger or Accounts Assistant role
Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
Experience using accounting software, such as Sage, Xero or similar, is desirable
The ability to work independently and manage their own workload
Excellent communication skills and a professional manner
A positive, flexible and proactive approach
The ability to work from our Oswestry office for the first two weeks before the Finance team relocates to Wrexham
Additional Information The position will initially be based in Oswestry for approximately two weeks to support the transition while our Finance and Accountancy team relocates to Wrexham. Following the relocation, the role will be permanently based at our Wrexham office for the duration of the temporary assignment
