The Role Working closely with Managers and Directors, you'll take responsibility for a varied portfolio of owner-managed businesses. Responsibilities will include:
Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders Preparing corporation tax computations and returns Producing management accounts and financial information Preparing and reviewing VAT returns Acting as a key point of contact for clients Building strong, long-term relationships with business owners Providing proactive accounting and business advice Supporting clients with cloud accounting software and improving their accounting processes Identifying tax planning and wider advisory opportunities Reviewing work prepared by junior members of the team Coaching and supporting trainees and Semi Seniors Working closely with Managers and Directors on more complex client matters Ensuring assignments are completed accurately and within agreed deadlines The Candidate The successful candidate will ideally have: ACA or ACCA qualification, although strong qualified-by-experience candidates will also be considered Strong experience within UK accountancy practice Experience preparing statutory accounts for owner-managed businesses Good corporation tax knowledge Strong communication and client relationship skills Confidence dealing directly with business owners Experience reviewing or supporting junior team members Good knowledge of cloud accounting software A proactive approach and an interest in developing beyond traditional compliance work What's On Offer £38,000 - £45,000 basic salary Hybrid / flexible working Generous annual leave Company pension Ongoing professional development Regular client contact and advisory exposure Varied owner-managed business portfolio Supportive independent practice environment Direct access to senior decision-makers Genuine opportunity to progress to Assistant Manager and Manager level High levels of autonomy and responsibility
