Job Overview
PLEASE NOTE THAT WE WILL ONLY ACCEPT APPLICATIONS FROM STAFF CURRENTLY EMPLOYED BY BETHI CADWALADER UNIVERSITY HEALTH BOARD. An exciting opportunity has become available to join the Pre‑op Assessment Team (POAC) at Wrexham Maelor Hospital as a Receptionist/Administrator.
As a part of this very busy team, the successful applicant is expected to be very flexible in approach to service needs, have a pleasant personality, and a positive approach to their work. Excellent customer service and communication skills are required along with the ability to deal with sensitive matters and highly confidential patient information. Applicants must also have a good standard of education, be adaptable, and have good organisational skills.
The post holder is expected to provide effective administrative support to the clinical team.
To provide a comprehensive administrative service to the Pre‑Op Department whilst working as part of a multi‑disciplinary team to ensure that an effective service is provided and patient satisfaction is maximised. Also to promptly and efficiently exercise own judgement to resolve patient queries within own professional constraints.
By the nature of the duties, the post holder will be required to maintain strict confidentiality and will be expected to deal with staff, patients, carers and relatives with courtesy and discretion at all times.
Language requirementThe ability to speak Welsh is essential for this post;
English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
- Able to demonstrate English and Mathematics to GCSE or equivalent level
- NVQ level 3 in Customer Care or equivalent qualification or experience
- AMSPAR Diploma in Medical Reception level 3 or equivalent qualification or experience
- Previous clerical/office/reception experience
- Customer Service experience
- Previous NHS experience
- Able to use MS Windows, Word, Excel, TEAMS
- Excellent communication skills
- Able to keep pace with a fast moving and highly demanding environment
- Able to use electronic information systems
- Accurate keyboard skills, able to record information accurately
- Ability to work to strict deadlines and prioritise tasks
- Able to communicate information clearly and sensitively in person and over telephone
- Welsh Speaking
- Previous use of the hospital systems i.e. Symphony / WPAS
- Previous experience of communication, confidential information
