Buyer
£55k per annum

Wrexham
We are looking for a Buyer to join our client’s team on a permanent basis, to be based in the Wrexham area.
Performance Objectives
* Manage the procurement process for assigned categories, ensuring cost efficiency and quality standards.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to drive performance and continuous improvement.
* Manage purchasing for new product introductions and major projects
* Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to achieve best value for our client.
* Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for cost savings and innovation.
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align purchasing strategies with business objectives.
* Ensure compliance with company policies and ethical sourcing standards.
* Developing and implementing global category strategies to support manufacturing operations in UK, India, USA, China & Brazil.
* Engaging and negotiating with suppliers globally to optimise value – maximising supplier competitiveness and performance.
* Working closely with internal stakeholders, particularly Product Development Engineers, to identify, evaluate and adopt innovative technologies.
Person Specification
* Proven experience in a buying or procurement role, ideally within manufacturing or engineering sectors.
* Ability to truly multitask and switch between operational and strategic delivery.
* Results driven and takes ownership of projects to achieve success.
* A mixture of interpersonal & analytical skills that allow you to successfully negotiate & influence internal stakeholders and suppliers.
* Strong negotiation and communication skills.
* Ability to analyse data and make informed decisions.
* Knowledge of supply chain management and procurement best practices.
* Knowledge in ERP systems (SAP) and Microsoft Office.
* Consider different perspectives to comprehensively define business requirements and develop creative strategies to achieve these.
* A can-do attitude and being resilient & adaptable are essential in a fast-moving environment.
