What You’ll Be Doing
- Driving sales standards; quality sales over quantity sales, with business‑leading sales metrics
- Track sales performance across the regional portfolio, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities
- Maintain core reporting outputs including retention trackers and operational sales dashboards
- Help enforce correct and timely operational responses for summer extensions, STL or Bridge bookings, using the request tracker
- Turn performance data into clear insights and actions for on‑site teams and senior stakeholders
- Produce and distribute the weekly Sales Update for Operations, ensuring visibility of progress, priorities, and actions
- Translate regional commercial strategy into clear, practical direction for on‑site teams, ensuring priorities and targets are understood and delivered consistently
- Provide cover for the Divisional Commercial Manager during periods of leave or absence
- Attend relevant meetings on behalf of the DCM when required and follow up on actions
- Support delivery of time‑sensitive commercial tasks and stakeholder requests during cover periods
- Support the regional management to improve year‑on‑year occupancy, with realistic opportunities to increase income and occupancy
- Review competitor pricing and incentives to ensure we are appropriately priced
- Suggest innovative ways to increase occupancy within cities, moving away from tried and tested methods
- Ensure the City teams keep the properties up to the standard of expectation with show‑flat and customer journey reviews
- Work with the Marketing team to secure the necessary budget for local city initiatives
- Ensure each property has the latest and most intuitive marketing tools available to them
- Set PPC percentage split across properties in line with sales need on a weekly basis
- Work with the Regional General Manager and the Management team to confirm the mapping for each building
- Daily visits to sites to ensure sales focus with team
- Weekly Management sales and operational meetings
- Meet with University partners to discuss campaigns
- Prospect all potential third‑party partners (e.g., language schools, business schools)
- Send University partners marketing collateral for Accommodation Offices
- Negotiate packages with University Partners
- Roll out the Summer Campaign to the City team, supporting with mapping and pricing
- Weekly STL sales tracking
- Ensure third‑party billing is correct
- Support Managers in meetings with Group’s for Summer Deals and any backfill opportunities
- Explore new initiatives to help bridge void rooms
- Support all recruitment in challenge properties to ensure the right candidates are chosen
- Attend regular City team talks monthly and give sales updates
- Build a positive team environment
- Review, approve and liaise with the Revenue Team to action changes to room mapping in booking systems
- Strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills to build relationships across all levels, internally and externally
- Ability to coach and mentor where necessary to drive performance
- Good attention to detail and ability to work across teams internally to support where necessary, including providing regular reports
- Excellent time‑management skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data into meaningful reports
- Ability to think innovatively to drive new initiatives
