Here's what you can expect from us:

• Full-time, Monday–Friday hours
  , with only rare Saturdays throughout the year
• Monday–Thursday: 8:20am–5:30pm | Friday: 8:20am–4:30pm

What will you be doing?

As an Apprentice Dental Nurse, you'll learn all aspects of dental nursing while working alongside experienced clinicians and the wider practice team.

From your first day, you'll be involved in the life of the practice and gradually take on more responsibility as your knowledge and confidence develop.

You'll learn how to:

• Support the dentist during patient appointments, learning how to anticipate what the clinician needs and help treatments run smoothly
• Prepare surgeries before patients arrive and make sure everything is ready for the day's treatments
• Welcome and reassure patients, helping them feel comfortable before, during and after their appointment
• Learn about a range of treatments across NHS and private dentistry
• Prepare instruments, materials and equipment for different procedures
• Develop your understanding of infection prevention and control, including cleaning, decontamination and sterilisation
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation throughout the surgery
• Assist with maintaining accurate patient records and clinical documentation
• Learn how to work safely and professionally within a regulated clinical environment
• Work towards the knowledge, skills and behaviours required for your Dental Nursing qualification

As you progress through your apprenticeship, you'll become increasingly confident and independent in the surgery, with support from the team around you.

You'll also gain an understanding of what makes a successful dental practice from excellent patient care and clinical standards to teamwork and the smooth running of the day.
