Gillingham

Immediate start

Contract until the end of the academic year

We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team, working across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage
2. This is a varied and fulfilling role, ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting children’s learning and development in a dynamic school environment.

Based on the outskirts of Gillingham, our school offers a welcoming and friendly setting. Please note that due to the location, access by public transport can be limited, so applicants must have their own transport or a reliable way of travelling to and from the school.

The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers to support high-quality teaching and learning. Responsibilities will include providing 1:1 support for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), assisting with small group interventions, and helping to create an inclusive and engaging classroom environment.

You will need to be flexible, proactive, and confident in building positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents. A calm, patient approach and a genuine commitment to helping every child achieve their potential are essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 support for pupils with SEN
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering lessons and activities
  • Lead and support small group work
  • Help manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience working with primary-aged children (KS1 and/or KS2)
  • Understanding of SEN and strategies to support diverse learners
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A flexible and enthusiastic attitude
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in children’s lives while developing your skills in a supportive and welcoming school.
