EYFS Teaching Assistant

Academics is currently looking for experienced EYFS Teaching Assistants for day-to-day and short/long term opportunities within our partnership nurseries and primary schools. Working across Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire can be diversified, meaning that we work with an assortment of primary schools and that we do have different requirements to suit.

• Work alongside teachers and fellow practitioners to deliver fun EYFS appropriate sessions and activities.
• Managing challenging behaviour and engaging learners with their own learning.
• To encourage independence, positive behaviour, and social interaction.
• Working with learners either 1-2-1 or in small groups.
• Committed to support both the teacher and the students to succeed.

• Previous experience of working with children in a nursery or primary school setting (in the UK).
• A minimum Level 2 qualification in Early Years/Childcare (or equivalent).
• Strong knowledge of the EYFS curriculum.
• Confident communication skills and to be a excellent motivator in the room (1-2-1 or small group support).
• Strong behaviour management skills with the ability to support learners.
• A good level of literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE English and Maths Grade 4 or Grade C and above/Functional Skills Level 2 in the minimum required).
• Paediatric First Aid (or to be willing to work towards).
• A current Enhanced DBS that is registered with the Update Service, or you will be prepared to apply for a new DBS with ourselves (cost applied).

Please be aware that your daily rate will be dependent upon experience, prior qualifications, training, and the client rate that is currently available.
