Darland High School
Darland High School is an English‑medium secondary school in the North‑East of Wrexham. We are looking for a confident and enthusiastic Welsh teacher to support students at Key Stages 3 and 4.
We expect the successful candidate to:
- Teach Welsh across the ability and age range, supporting development to the highest standards for all pupils at Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Promote two‑way communication skills, encouraging a love of language.
- Deliver consistently high quality teaching, learning, assessment and high standards of achievement.
- Evaluate student target and performance data and analyse as required.
- Positively engage in all school activities and events.
- Demonstrate positive approaches to discipline and parent contact.
- Assist in producing and updating programmes of study and schemes of work, including suitable assessments.
- Be a model of excellent practice in teaching and learning.
- Identify students who are underachieving and implement strategies to support progress.
- Ensure a conducive learning atmosphere with challenging, stimulating and differentiated instruction.
- Provide provision for all groups, including those with additional learning needs, higher ability and disadvantaged pupils.
- Participate in course development, consultation and planning on whole‑school issues.
- Undertake other tasks as appropriate per teachers' pay and conditions, and as required by the Head Teacher.
Contribute to an environment where students are motivated to achieve and thrive in engaging, challenging lessons.
Ensure a culture of aspiration through a focus on high standards – through questioning, reading, writing and preparation for tests and assessments.
Safeguarding- Uphold the school's safeguarding and child protection policies and ensure the safety and wellbeing of all learners.
- Work openly within the framework of best practice identified in the safeguarding policy.
- Report any concerns regarding pupil safety or staff working practices to the DSP.
