Art & Design Teacher

New Directions Education are currently recruiting for a passionate and creative Art & Design Teacher to work within a secondary school in Wrexham from September. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic teacher to inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering engaging and imaginative lessons within a supportive department. The successful candidate will have strong classroom management skills, a genuine passion for Art & Design, and the ability to motivate learners of all abilities.

Ideally, you’ll be happy to teach from Key Stage 3 (KS3) to Key Stage 4 (KS4) with a possibility of teaching Key Stage 5 (KS5).

• Teach all areas of the curriculum or subject specialism
• Organise the classroom and learning resources to create a positive teaching environment
• Plan, prepare and teach lessons that cater for the needs of all student ability ranges
• Motivate pupils with enthusiastic and imaginative presentation
• Maintain discipline
• Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils’ development
• Coordinate activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area
• Staying up-to-date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum
• Take part in school events and activities which may take place at weekends or in the evening
• Liaise with colleagues and work flexibly, particularly within smaller schools.
