Salary: Grade 7, Points 15 to 19 – £30,024 to £32,061 per annum pro rata (£15.56 to £16.61 per hour) based on a 32.5‑hour week during term time.

  Pro‑rata of full‑time Grade 7 pay (£30,024–£32,061); hourly rate £15.56 rising to £15.81 after six months and increasing annually to a maximum of £16.61 (current pay scale as of 02 Sep 2025)

We seek an individual who wants to be a highly effective enabling adult and make a meaningful difference in young people’s lives. The ideal candidate will have an NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent, be confident supporting lessons and be a good team player. A positive approach to behaviour support and considerable experience working with children with complex learning, physical and behavioural needs is essential.

As a teaching assistant, you will:

• Support pupils with complex and profound Additional Learning Needs (ALN) on a 1:1 and small group basis;
• Work closely with the class teacher to provide a stimulating and effective learning environment for all pupils;
• Implement positive behaviour strategies including sensory play/therapy, “Now & Next”, distraction, and more;
• Monitor pupils’ behaviours and emotional states, adapting your approach to suit individual needs;
• Collaborate with a class teacher and at least two other teaching assistants, given the small class sizes (largest class 12 pupils).

This position requires an Enhanced DBS Check.
