Thank you for your interest in the position of PE Teacher at Abersychan School. This is an important role for the school, as we aim to sustain strong outcomes in PE and sport, in addition to the valuable provision offered to students in PSHE. You will be part of the Health and Wellbeing Department, working collaboratively with a team of skilled practitioners and the new Curriculum Leader to drive the department forward.
Key responsibilities include enriching the extracurricular sport programme, organising fixtures and providing wider sporting opportunities beyond the school day. You will support students in achieving their personal best, help them reach high levels in sport, and contribute to the high standards of the school’s sporting provision.
Registration with the Education Workforce Council is required for this position.
You must demonstrate how you meet the Essential criteria listed in the attached Person Specification to secure an interview. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. A comprehensive screening process will be undertaken on all successful applicants, which will include an Enhanced check with the Disclosure and Barring Service.
