As a Learning Officer you’ll develop and deliver hybrid learning programmes based on Amgueddfa Cymru collections. You will work with the learning team to develop, plan and deliver innovative and creative hybrid learning programme and resources to a wide range of audiences, including schools, families and adult groups.
Key activities- Work with the Senior Learning Officer on the development and delivery of the formal learning programme at the National Slate Museum, as outlined in the redevelopment activity plan. Work with the re-development team.
- Creation of high quality, well‑planned and professionally delivered learning activities onsite and online for the full range of users.
- Creation of programmes, activities and digital resources for schools to support teachers in delivering the New Curriculum for Wales.
- Programmes, activities and resources for families, young people, adults and community groups to meet different needs and enable them to engage with the collections.
- Health and Wellbeing programme of activity for people living with and affected by dementia.
- Development and delivery of learning programme.
- Develop and deliver a range of exciting and engaging in‑person and virtual activities in both Welsh and English for schools, families and adult / health and wellbeing groups.
- Develop and create digital learning resources in line with the Curriculum for Wales 2022 requirements.
- Deliver project work that aligns with the learning programme.
- Monitor and evaluate programmes to ensure they meet user needs and operational requirements.
Manage people including staff, external learning providers, volunteers and placements.
Team workingBe an active member of the department, supporting the team in the delivery of the learning programme.
Contribute to the development of the annual departmental and operational plan.
Work collaboratively with internal and external colleagues and partners to create hybrid learning programmes.
Income GenerationDevelop opportunities for increased income generation through delivery of programmes.
ReportingContribute to reports and data collection to support performance targets and operational planning.

PERSON SPECIFICATION Job specific- An individual with relevant experience, whether paid or voluntary in a museum, gallery or educational setting and is passionate about working with schools and young people to deliver hybrid learning opportunities.
- An understanding of how museum collections can be used as a resource to support learning for a wide range of users including families, young people, schools and adults.
- Awareness of policies e.g. Curriculum for Wales, and those relating to lifelong learning, digital learning and well‑being, and how they relate to learning in museums.
- Is creative and can create inspiring learning programmes and resources.
- Understanding ways of monitoring and evaluating programmes.
- Ability to work on weekends and bank holidays as required as well as occasional travel to our museums and community settings across Wales.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to communicate in Welsh and English.
- Excellent digital skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with colleagues across Amgueddfa Cymru and to engage difficult or complex groups.
- Excellent organisational skills including the ability to plan and deliver projects to time and budget.
