Role Summary

Role Title: Lecturer in Skills for Adults / Community Learning

Location: Wrexham and Flintshire, across several campus and community provision

Contract Type: Permanent, Part time (80% FTE, 29.6 hours per week)

Salary: £33,596 - £51,932 (full-time equivalent; salary pro rata for part-time). Upper pay range points UP2 and UP3 subject to progression evidence.

We currently have a vacancy for a lecturer in Essential Skills, including Literacy, Numeracy and Digital for Adult Community Learning across Wrexham / Flintshire. Responsibilities include teaching, preparation of learning materials, marking of students’ work, and liaising with awarding bodies and exam invigilation.

The successful candidate will complete and produce required documentation by agreed deadlines, such as registers, schemes of work, records of work, course reviews, course analyses, student reports and absence reports.

As a lecturer you will excel in providing educational guidance and support for our students, and ensure their safety and welfare at all times. You will have a strong commitment to student success and a passion for teaching and learning.

Essential Requirements
  • A minimum of a Level 5 teaching qualification (e.g., Cert Ed/PGCE) or be working towards a Level 5 teaching qualification

  • Educated to a minimum Level 4 qualification

  • Demonstrate understanding of current developments within your specialist area and how to stay up to date

  • Knowledge of a broad range of learning needs and how to support these within a learning environment

  • Experience of teaching and supporting young people with extensive barriers to learning

Welsh skills are desirable for this position. We seek candidates who can help grow our bilingual provision and service.
