About the Role

Ysgol Cae'r Gwenyn is a Special School for children aged 3-7. We are looking to recruit 2 x Teaching Assistants Level 2.

Responsibilities
  • Passionate about working with young children, supporting their development and early communication skills.
  • Promotes high levels of wellbeing and positive behaviour with all children.
  • Has a good understanding of how to engage and connect with young children through play.
  • Can work under the guidance of the class teacher and show initiative.
  • Will help to deliver programmes to support literacy and numeracy.
  • Will support the development and maintenance of areas of continuous provision.
  • Has good communication skills with both children and adults.
  • Will work alongside children with ALN and support their IDP and small steps targets.
  • Will work well as part of a large team.

Ysgol Cae'r Gwenyn is a Primary Special School. We are a small school for 34 full time learners, from Nursery up to Year
2. Visitors to our school regularly comment on the calm, happy and family atmosphere in school. In addition, Ysgol Cae'r Gwenyn had an Estyn Inspection in 2023 with very positive outcomes.

"The wellbeing of pupils is at the centre of everything at the school. The school provides an engaging curriculum based on developing the pupils' communication skills. Learning experiences are designed to support pupils to understand and to be understood. School staff are highly skilled and provide excellent support to develop pupils' verbal and non‑verbal skills".
