Responsibilities

As a Specialist Tutor, you will:

  • Provide academic guidance and create individual learning plans tailored to each student.
  • Foster independent learning by supporting students to develop independence and build on their strengths.
  • Teach strategies for organisation and time management.
  • Formulate action plans to help students stay on track with their studies.
  • Build research skills, including identifying appropriate sources and correct use of references.
  • Enhance reading, writing, and comprehension skills.
  • Act professionally, maintain confidentiality, and address student concerns promptly.
Qualifications
  • Undergraduate Degree (Level 6 minimum) and a professional membership recognised by the Department for Education (DfE).
  • Professional membership (refer to internal accepted memberships list).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to help students build on their strengths while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Punctuality, reliability, and good organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage a caseload of students.
