We are seeking a caring, committed, and enthusiastic ALN Teaching Assistant to join our supportive primary school team. You will play a key role in supporting pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) to access learning, develop independence, and achieve their full potential in an inclusive environment.
AboutThe Role
- Support the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities for pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN).
- Provide 1:1 and small group support, helping pupils engage with the curriculum and reach their individual targets.
- Have experience in delivering Direct Phonics, PAT and Fizzy Training Games programme.
- Assist in the implementation of Individual Development Plans (IDPs) and targeted intervention programmes.
- Deliver structured interventions in both one-to-one and group situations to support learning and development.
- Adapt resources and learning activities to meet the diverse needs of pupils.
- Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development, promoting confidence and independence.
- Assist pupils with communication needs, including the use of visual supports and alternative communication strategies.
- Work with children with Speech and Language needs and support programmes guided by Occupational Therapy (OT).
- Follow and implement advice and strategies from specialist professionals, such as Speech and Language Therapists and Occupational Therapists.
- Help develop pupils’ sensory, motor, and communication skills through targeted support.
- Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to the class teacher and ALNCo.
- Uphold school policies, including safeguarding, confidentiality, and equality.
