We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Physics Teacher for both long-term and supply opportunities within supportive secondary school environments. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality Physics lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential. Responsibilities include planning and delivering engaging lessons, assessing student progress, maintaining effective classroom management, and creating a positive learning environment.

For long-term placements, there may be involvement in departmental activities, parents’ evenings, and exam preparation, while supply roles require adaptability, professionalism, and the ability to integrate quickly into different school settings. The ideal candidate will hold relevant teaching qualifications, possess strong subject knowledge, and demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills.

Job Specification

If you specialise in teaching biology, physics, or chemistry and are seeking a role in a school, we’ve got opportunities for you, especially if you’re a newly qualified teacher (NQT) or interested in supply teaching.

As a Science Teacher you’ll be expected to:

  • Hold QTS status
  • Teach all areas of your subject specialism
  • Organise the classroom and learning resources to create a positive teaching environment
  • Plan, prepare and teach lessons that cater for all student ability ranges
  • Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation
  • Maintain discipline
  • Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils’ development
  • Coordinate activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area
  • Stay up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum
  • Liaise with colleagues and working flexibly, particularly within smaller schools.
