Gwenfro CP School is seeking to appoint a skilled, compassionate and resilient Level 4 Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping children overcome barriers, build confidence and achieve their full potential.
As a Level 4 Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality support to pupils within our KS2 Resource Provision for pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN). Working closely with teachers, support staff and specialist professionals, you will help create a safe, structured, inclusive and nurturing environment where pupils can engage positively in learning and develop their independence.
Responsibilities will include:
Leading targeted interventions – Planning and delivering small-group or 1:1 programmes that support communication, social skills, emotional regulation, independence and academic engagement.
Supporting behaviour and wellbeing – Using nurturing, trauma-informed and relational approaches to help pupils manage emotions, develop resilience and build positive relationships.
Adapting learning – Modifying tasks, resources and routines to ensure learning is accessible and appropriately challenging for pupils with a range of ALN.
Promoting independence – Supporting pupils to develop confidence, self-help skills and independence, both within the Resource Provision and across the wider school environment.
Working collaboratively – Liaising with teachers, therapists, external agencies and families to ensure consistent, holistic support for pupils.
Contributing to planning and assessment – Assisting with lesson preparation, assessment, individual support plans and reviewing pupil progress, providing professional insight and observations.
Acting as a key adult – Providing stability, encouragement and positive support, helping pupils to feel safe, valued and confident within the school environment.
