Attendance Support Officer
Wrexham County Borough Council is looking for enthusiastic and committed Attendance Support Officers to join our Education Social Work team.
You will work closely with pupils, families, schools and partner agencies to improve school attendance, engagement and outcomes for young people. The role will involve home visits, mentoring and supporting pupils, delivering Attendance Improvement Plans, carrying out school attendance audits and identifying barriers to regular attendance.
You will also work alongside education and social care professionals, contribute to safeguarding, analyse attendance data and provide advice and support to schools and families.
We are looking for someone with experience of working with children, young people and vulnerable families, ideally within an education or related setting. You will need excellent communication and organisational skills, the ability to work independently and collaboratively, and a commitment to improving outcomes for young people.
A relevant qualification or significant equivalent experience is required. Knowledge of education legislation, attendance systems and safeguarding is desirable.
DBS check required. Full driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes essential.
