Responsibilities- Deliver engineering solutions for projects, or work packages of varying scale, complexity, value and project stages, and could be working across several projects at any given time.
- Be responsible for ensuring your projects are delivered to budget, programme, technical standards and legal requirements.
- Liaise with our clients, stakeholders and internal disciplines, developing trusted relationships, and proactively managing expectations.
- Work closely with Project and Technical Delivery Leads in planning, programming, and pricing of proposals and deliverables.
- Be responsible for checking and certifying designs, documents and reports prior to approval.
- Lead and coordinate resources during the delivery of projects or work packages.
- Mentor and upskill more junior staff helping them develop professionally and progress towards professional qualifications.
- Be responsible for compliance with Health & Safety and Environmental Legislation and in‑house quality assurance standards/processes.
- A passion for design and developing innovative solutions, demonstrating initiative and ingenuity to solve engineering problems.
- A Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, or suitable equivalent.
- Hold IEng or are working towards CEng with demonstrable progress.
- Wide‑ranging knowledge and experience of highway design at various stages of the project life cycle. Specific experience in any, or all, of the following areas is advantageous: highway geometry, active travel, public transport, highway drainage, road restraint systems, pavements, traffic signs and road markings, and utilities.
- Broad knowledge of relevant design standards and codes of best practice such as the Design Manual for Roads & Bridges, Manual for Streets, TSRGD, Active Travel Act (Wales) Guidance, and Local Authority design guidance.
- Experience of leading single or multi‑disciplinary projects, or work packages.
- Are well versed in the preparation and checking of reports and drawings for transport studies, and or, construction projects.
- The ability to use, direct or check the use of relevant software for example Autodesk Civils 3D, Bentley Open Roads Designer, Info Drainage, Causeway and/or PDS.
- Knowledge of all duty holders under CDM regulations.
- Awareness and proactive management of project and commercial risk in collaboration with Project and Technical Delivery Leads.
- Good communication, client/stakeholder management and interpersonal skills are essential.
