LET’S TELL YOU MORE

We’re looking for a Network Optimisation Technician to join us at our Packsaddle site, in Wales and in this role you’ll work 37 hours Monday - Friday.

As our Network Optimisation Technician, you'll play a key role in helping us deliver excellent service to our customers by ensuring our water distribution network operates efficiently and effectively. You'll use your technical expertise to monitor, evaluate and optimise our clean water network, helping to improve performance and reduce leakage.

Working closely with our Network Optimisation Specialist and Support Technician, you'll investigate asset performance, analyse network issues and produce technical reports using hydraulic modelling. You'll provide valuable insight and recommendations that support investment decisions, improve service levels and help us deliver a reliable supply of clean water to the communities we serve.

Key accountabilities include:
  • Provide technical expertise and analysis to optimise the performance of the water distribution network, including mains, reservoirs, boosters and pressure management assets.
  • Investigate network issues, assess asset performance and recommend solutions that improve service, reduce risk and support investment decisions.
  • Use hydraulic modelling and technical reporting to support regulatory compliance, customer outcomes and the delivery of leakage and service performance targets.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We're looking for someone with experience working with water networks or utility assets within an operational or engineering environment. You'll have a good understanding of hydraulic principles and hydraulic modelling, with the ability to analyse data, investigate issues and identify effective solutions.

You'll also have strong IT skills, including experience using spreadsheets and presenting complex information through reports and graphical analysis. An understanding of the Water Regulatory Framework would be advantageous, although this isn't essential. Most importantly, you'll be a proactive problem solver who is passionate about delivering excellent service and driving continuous improvement.

HERE'S WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU

This is more than just a job; it's a career. We offer benefits that reward great work, along with award-winning training to help you achieve your full potential. You'll also be making a positive contribution to the environment and the community. Here are some of our favourites:

  • Annual bonus scheme (up to £1,500 per year based on company performance)
  • Market-leading pension scheme: we'll double your contribution (up to 8% when you contribute 4%)
  • Sharesave: the opportunity to buy Severn Trent plc shares at a discounted price
  • Dedicated training and development through our "Hackademy"
  • Electric vehicle scheme and shopping discounts
  • Family-friendly policies
