Hays Senior Finance have been appointed by a large and successful company in Wrexham to recruit a qualified Finance Manager for their growing team. This company has invested significantly in its infrastructure over the last few years and now has a world-class facility in Wrexham and new sites overseas. They have an aggressive yet realistic growth plan underpinned by proven trading and significant investment.
The Finance Manager is responsible for leading a team to deliver accurate, timely, and compliant general accounting activities, ensuring effective financial control, high-quality reporting, and adherence to company policies, internal controls, and applicable accounting standards. The role also supports team development, operational performance, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities include:
* Effectively lead, coach and develop a team of six - a mixture of Accounts Assistants to Management Accountants.
* Ensure internal and external reporting deadlines are achieved accurately, on time and to the required quality standards.
* Financial records remain compliant with IFRS and applicable local accounting standards.
* Monitor financial performance for multiple entities and profit centres.
* Management Accounts Preparation and Reporting for multiple entities.
* Lead and coordinate the month-end close process, ensuring timely completion of ledgers and accurate preparation of management accounts.
* Oversee the preparation and posting of journal entries and ensure month-end activities are completed in line with the month-end calendar.
* Ensure balance sheet accounts reconciliations are prepared and approved.
* Present balance sheet positions at analytical review meetings with the Financial Controller, explaining key variances and identifying areas of concern.
* Manage short-term cash flow reporting.
* Coordinate budget and forecast submissions at balance sheet level, including trade working capital, tax, cash flow.
* Collaborate with the Financial Controller and external auditors to support completion of the audit process and timely sign-off of financial statements.
