Housing Policy Officer (12 months maternity cover) About The Role

About the role

Runnymede Borough Council is a social housing landlord to 3,000 households. Covering the postholder’s maternity leave, the Housing Policy Officer will help us evidence how we comply with statutory and regulatory requirements and how we are delivering improved outcomes for our customers. You will lead the production and regular review of a suite of strategies, policies and procedures; evaluate the outcome of the services we provide;

and help us with complaint handling so we learn from our mistakes.

Runnymede Borough Council’s Housing Service is committed to continuous service improvements, and as our Housing Policy Officer you will contribute to this through helping with complaint handling, writing and reviewing strategies, policies and procedures and carrying out research and consultation. You must be a team player and excellent communicator.

About You

This opportunity would suit someone who:

  • carries a passion for further improving the Council’s Housing services - you don’t need to have worked in Housing before
  • has excellent written, oral and digital communication skills, able to produce reports, policies and procedures
  • has, or wants to have, experience of complaint handling
  • prides themselves on their accuracy and attention to detail
  • has good interpersonal skills
  • has experience of developing positive relationships while working collaboratively across busy teams and projects.
