Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist

Band 5 - Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist.

Are you about to graduate and looking for your first Speech and Language Therapy post or are you a qualified Band 5 looking for opportunities in new clinical areas? We might have the ideal post for you! The role is based at the BCUHB East Integrated Health Community, covering Wrexham and Flintshire.

Welsh language speakers are welcomed; the ability to speak Welsh is desirable.

Main Duties of the Job

This role involves working with children in early years and school-aged settings. You will work as part of an integrated team with specialist therapists, providing assessment, advice and therapy to children with a range of speech, language and communication needs. You will collaborate with families and supporting agencies in clinic, nursery and school settings. The position offers a structured induction, ongoing clinical supervision, team meetings and CPD opportunities, supporting you to develop the necessary NQP competencies.

Person Specification Qualifications

Essential Criteria
  • Recognised qualification degree/equivalent in Speech & Language Therapy.
  • HCPC registered.
  • RCSLT registered.
Desirable Criteria
  • Demonstrated understanding and involvement in clinical governance and risk assessment.
  • Knowledge of health legislation and policy.
  • Knowledge and skills in alternative and augmentative communication.
Experience

Essential Criteria
  • A range of clinical experience across adult and paediatric SLT services.
Desirable Criteria
  • Experience delegating work to non‑registered staff.
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary/multiprofessional teams.
  • Provision of Welsh/English therapy.
  • Additional clinical or health‑care related experience.
