Job Overview
Job is a fixed-term secondment for 12 months. Applications are accepted only from staff currently employed by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board.

We are looking to recruit a forward-thinking Pharmacy Technician based in the BCUHB East IHC. The role involves working within the Primary Care and Community services team and the wider Integrated Care Health (IHC) to improve patient outcomes in medicines management. Patient-centred care is essential.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver pharmacy services across the IHC hospitals, GP practices and other clinical and non-clinical areas as required.
- Carry out medicines reconciliation, medication audits, support structured medication reviews and contribute to quality improvement work.
- Work closely with a clinical area such as antimicrobial stewardship or homecare.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and healthcare professionals across acute and community organisations.
- Facilitate and engage others to understand the safe, effective and economic use of medicines.

Weekend and bank holiday working will be required on a rota basis as part of standard working hours.
Qualifications and Experience- Registered Pharmacy Technician (GPhC registration)
- NVQ Level 3 in pharmacy services with a BTEC National Certificate in Pharmacy Services or equivalent
- Accredited Medicines Management Pharmacy Technician qualification, or willingness to undertake it (desirable)
- Experience working within a multidisciplinary team (essential)
- Experience in a primary care pharmacy team and medicines management (desirable)
- Audit experience (desirable)
- Ability to travel (essential)
- Ability to work weekends and public holidays (desirable)
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Adaptability to change and ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong time management and workload management skills
- Confidence with interpreting pharmacy data and communicating with healthcare professionals
- Welsh speaker (desirable)
- Work independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to self‑study and development
- Motivated, reliable, methodical approach to work
- Understanding and responsiveness to patient needs (desirable)
