Main duties of the job
The post holder will play a key role in promoting the development of children and young people with developmental delay or disability, and providing support to their families and the staff who support them, through:
- Direct work with the child and their parents
- Liaison with and working alongside colleagues to provide a holistic approach to care
As part of the Child and Family Psychological Therapies service, the Child Development Advisor (CDA) will work closely with clinical psychologists, assistant psychologists, parent carer counsellor, and parent carer peer mentor to plan and implement a holistic approach to care, provide guidance to families, and support the overall wellbeing of children aged up to three years old.
Qualifications- Good honours degree in child development or relevant subject, or equivalent experience.
- Postgraduate master’s in a clinically relevant area such as child development, behaviour, or research skills.
- Previous work as a child development advisor or extensive experience working with children and young people in health care, education, or social care settings.
- Previous work within a service for children with additional needs.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and will require a submission for Disclosure to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
