Job summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Band 6 Infant Feeding Health Visitor to join our dynamic Flying Start Wrexham team. This role will focus on improving infant feeding outcomes for families living in Flying Start areas, with a strong emphasis on promoting, protecting, and supporting breastfeeding in line with Baby Friendly Initiative (BFI) standards. Working closely with the Specialist Infant Feeding Lead, you will provide skilled, evidence-based support to parents and carers, deliver targeted interventions, and contribute to service development that enhances the quality and consistency of infant feeding practice.

This is an exciting opportunity for a practitioner who is passionate about infant feeding, committed to reducing inequalities, and eager to make a meaningful impact on the health and wellbeing of Flying Start families.

Main duties of the job

The Post holder will provide specialist advice to parents/carers/service users following referral process to support and increase breastfeeding rates in the county. The post holder will have protected time to complete clinical work. The post holder will support the Specialist Infant Feeding lead in achieving and maintaining UNICEF UK BFI full accreditation, including delivery of training, facilitating local breastfeeding Groups and undertake appropriate audits as directed by the Infant Feeding Lead.
