We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic Deputy Ward Manager to join our dedicated multi-disciplinary team in our state of the art newly redeveloped Inpatient Unit providing assessment, symptom management and end of life care to our patients living with a life limiting condition. Length of stay can range from a few days to a few weeks.
Are you a senior nurse ready for your next career step or an experienced manager? We are looking a motivated individual with palliative care experience to join our highly skilled multi-disciplinary team. You will work as part of that team to provide leadership, holistic person-centered care, integrating nursing care with psychosocial, physical, rehabilitative and spiritual needs.
You need to be able to demonstrate evidence-based practice, up to date clinical skills, flexibility and a commitment to the delivery of high quality, effective and efficient nursing care

Main duties of the job- Support the Ward Manager and Director of Clinical Services provide clinical nurse management, leadership, and expertise in all aspects of service delivery within sphere of responsibility.
- Delegated operational responsibility for the management of the Unit in the absence of the Ward Manager.
- Take the lead on the shift, taking responsibility of staff, patient care and other unit matters as required.
- Deputise and represent the Ward Manager and Director of Clinical Services at key meetings if required, ensuring that comprehensive verbal and written feedback provided.
- Take on the leadership of specific projects as agreed by the Ward Manager/Director of Clinical Services.
- Be familiar with ward budget and support the Ward Manager and Director of Clinical Services with budget setting, ensuring the efficient and effective utilisation of resources, both human and financial.
- Support the Ward Manager and other senior staff in the performance review process, which includes regular review and annual appraisal, individual personal development plans to monitor staff performance against agreed objectives, role competencies and behaviours.
