Specialist Speech and Language Therapist

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate, organised and innovative Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join our Mainstream Schools team, 3 days a week.

Working collaboratively with children, families, schools and partner agencies, you will support children and young people with a range of speech, language and communication needs across mainstream educational settings. You will also play a key role in working jointly with the wider service including Pre-School and ALN teams to enhance knowledge and support skills needed to provide a high-quality service to all children.

You will be involved in service evaluation and development, training junior staff, and working jointly with education in navigating the complexities of universal, targeted and specialist tiered support. Opportunities for continuing professional development (CPD) and regular clinical supervision are actively encouraged and supported within BCUHB Speech and Language Therapy Services.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; however, Welsh and English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the triage and prioritisation of referrals, caseload management and allocation and the assessment, intervention and management of a complex paediatric caseload. You will contribute to the delivery of training and education for colleagues, wider multidisciplinary teams and partner agencies, as well as providing clinical education and support to Speech and Language Therapy students.
